Dublin Bay is undeniably our greatest asset as Dubliners, however,
until now there has been no overall co-ordination between the
numerous authorities, State agencies and organisations whose
remit include the Dublin Bay area. As such, it has been difficult to
monitor the development of Dublin Bay to ascertain if it is being
developed to its full potential. For this project, I found the Dublin Bay
Authority (DBA), an organisation whose sole concern is the
management and development of Dublin Bay. My research proved
the main problem in the past was the lack of communication between the various agencies,
whose lands are contiguous to the Bay, and stakeholders. The solution; a series of talks,
debates and lectures that promote an integrated approach to
development and take a long-term view of the bay area.
